SALLY DUROS - Editor, Writer, Producer and Communication Consultant
Sally Duros is an editor and writer for multimedia, print and voice. Her career began at The Wall St. Journal and continued at Crain Communications, where she served in various positions including managing editor of Crain's City & State, the top spot for that publication. Now owned by Congressional Quarterly, City & State was a biweekly newspaper that delivered news on the business of government and innovation in public policy to 70,000 mayors, governors and city executives nationwide.

Bitten by the good government bug, Duros decided to take a position with Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley implementing initiatives like those City & State had written about. As a mayoral aide, Duros worked with a board of Chicago CEOs directing civic projects that reduced fragmentation and waste in city operations. These projects included reorientation toward customer service of several City departments, establishment of a Mayoral director of donor relations, and creation of a Risk Management policy and process. During this time, Duros was also responsible for complex citywide communication initiatives for Mayor Daley that included crafting an emergency operational plan during a deadly heat wave and establishing the Mayor's School Partners Program, a public/private partnership

Duros has a Master of Science in Communication from Northwestern University and a BA in Psychology from the University of Illinois. Duros has served on the boards of the Association of Consultants to Non-Profits, Genesis House and WorldWIT.

Duros writes and produces business materials that include business development proposals, business plans, websites, articles and speeches She also continues her work as a journalist, writing for the Chicago Sun-Times, The Wall St. Journal Online, TIME Magazine among others.
