As Real Estate Editor for the Chicago Sun-Times I was given the opportunity to revamp the brand of a newspaper section reporting on an industry in a deep transition. On the job, I met smart, talented, professional people from all aspects of Chicago's real estate world deeply committed to maintaining sound and happy Chicago neighborhoods. I learned from all of them.

I also learned that transparency of information enabled by the internet has the potential to create a better, smarter, healthier world for everyone. That said, we have not achieved that vision yet. I believe that vision wil be within our reach when the crucial role of journalists and other independendent information synthesizers is fully acknowledged and incorporated into the web. I want to be a part of this next phase of the web's evolution.

I'm eager to put my leadership, strategic communications and advocacy skills immediately to work for an organization that has a vision for its future in the virtual world and on the ground.

I served as creative editor and writing coach on a book about the emotional lives of entrepreneurs, You Need to Be a Little Crazy, by Barry Moltz, which was published fall 2003 by Dearborn Trade. You can have just as much fun as Barry did selling and writing his book - just work with me! Send me an email today. And make your dream of authorship a reality.. Here's some other work from the Chicago Sun Times...

I reviewed Kathryn Harrison's book, Envy, for the Sun-Times book section.

This special insert on Historic Chicago Bungalows detailed how Chicago communities are getting behind preserving this great middle-class housing. You can read my articles on rehabbing, historic designation, green bungalows and the City's preservation initiative.

Here's reporting on women and venture capital, as well as a piece on how corporations support gay employees.

I've done some reporting for TIME magazine. They gave me a byline for my reporting on its coverage of the Enron accounting scandal. They also bought my idea for a piece on devotional chant, which features Krishna Das.

I've been interested in film, including documentries, for most of my life. Here's a piece on Chicago's independent film industry penned for the Chicago Sun-Times a while back.

I wrote this article for the Chicago Reader about the experiences of the Heart of America Bus Tour in Chicago.

Here's the column I wrote for WorldWIT, the global women's network, Sally's World. These are creative essays that blend personal experience and news.

Through my reporting, Chicago's business community learned about Springboard 2001-Midwest, a venture forum that put sweet deals in front of Chicago VCs.

Twenty-seven women entrepreneurs went through the Springboard process
and then presented in May at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
